Selection & safe use
Breaking strength is not a working load limit. Rope, terminations and hardware must be selected for the complete application with an appropriate safety factor. Avoid shock loading, protect rope from sharp edges and inspect it before use.
Samson recommends AmSteel-Blue for split-drum winches. Do not use it on H-bitts, capstans or cleats when surging or rendering the rope is required. Follow Samson’s use, inspection and retirement guidance.
